When Heaven Invades Earth

Oh my goodness…. Where do I even start?

Well. First of all… I am in love. I am so in love with the heart of God that I can’t imagine ever living for anything else, ever again. In all seriousness, He is SO GOOD. He cares about people so much. At times I will ask Him to give me His heart for someone and I am usually driven to tears with how much love He has for them. He actually loves us, and He actually likes us. When He illustrates Himself as a father that means that He is giving us a full inheritance and full access to everything that He has. The rest is literally a battle in your mind to step into that. Into living like sons and daughters of God.

A few weekends ago, we had a church conference in a surrounding village, Mieze. It was unbelievable... We saw over 40-50 people get healed of all sorts of diseases. One baby in particular was healed of blindness- her eyes went from solid white, to beautiful brown. It was glorious. Not only that, but there was torrential downpour over the conference. That is a huge sign of the presence and blessing of God to the African people. We came to find out that it literally only rained over the conference...when we drove about 10 yards out it was drier than could be. I must say that we did sleep in inches of mud and rain. Haha, I am starting to understand what learning to be content in all circumstances feels like. Joy is taking over me.

I am beginning to understand what the gospel was supposed to look like. I am starting to understand the things that Paul wrote (things I always thought I understood…) with so much revelation and power. The African people have an advantage that we don’t have- the fact that they take things literally. In the great commission, Jesus sends people out to heal the sick, cast out demons, to raise the dead, and to bring the Kingdom of God to this earth. When you tell a Mozambican that, they take it. And they do it. Some of the bible students here at the Mozambican bible school have been studying only a few months and almost 10 of them have raised the dead. Whoa. (Not to mention that over 100 people have been raised from the dead here in Mozambique in the past few years). What on earth do I have to teach them? Though they are poor in the perspective wealth of the world, they are beyond rich in the Kingdom of God. They have such revelation of God and such faith- it is here with them that I am among royalty. It is an honor just to hear them pray, to hear their passion. It really humbles me beyond words and pushes me into a place of complete desperation for more of God.

That desperation is your key to the Kingdom of Heaven. You will find God and be filled with God to the extent of your hunger. So naturally, if you don’t really need Him and feel that you can function without Him to a certain degree- it is to that degree that you will know Him. As I see more, I am so hungry for the things of God. I am so hungry to be hidden in His heart and to feel the heartbeat of Jesus. To see what He sees. I want to begin to see from His eyes and to step out into the commission of bringing the Kingdom of God.

In the time that we’ve been here, we’ve seen so many miracles. We’ve seen bread multiply, we’ve seen the cripple walk… we’ve seen Heaven invade Earth. That’s what the Kingdom is about. Actually, the other day… we went to the hospital and prayed for a blind lady and actually saw her pupils go from white to black. (This seems to be a common theme in the Kingdom of God, haha) She was totally healed right before our eyes…and she leaned toward me and just kept saying, “I see you… I see you.” WHOA, God. That’s my God!!! He delights in giving people life, in restoring things. He is doing really deep healing in my heart and starting to re-write whatever He wants over my heart, over my life. I am giving Him complete access to come and wreck me, to do whatever He wants, to take whatever He wants, to take me any direction of His choice.

One of the things that has really hit my heart hard is the idea of, “What if we really abandoned themselves to whatever God asked and ran in complete radical faith?" Such as: actually believing for provision and protection. "What if we actually took the words of the bible and began to live them out?" Such as: believe for radical healing over people and stepping out in faith to fight for that purpose in the most ordinary of situations. What if we actually believed that God was who He said He was and actually believed the things of the bible? Such as: Do not take concern for tomorrow… do not worry about what you will eat or drink. Instead seek first the Kingdom of God and everything else will be provided for you. What if one person actually believed God?” I want to be someone that believes God. Because honestly, one person, totally abandoned to God, can shake nations. I give God complete permission to have all of me to Himself and to do whatever He wishes with my life. It is no longer mine. Here goes the adventure of a lifetime…

P.S. Incase you wanted a foretaste of Heaven on Earth...this is what it looks like.
